MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI Motherboard is the most valuable and affordable motherboard for AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. This motherboard comes with a socket of AM4, and it’s an AMD X570 chipset motherboard with a form factor ATX. This motherboard comes with a lot of USB ports, it has a built-in Wi-Fi and a powerful audio codec.

Design and PCB:

This motherboard comes in a solid design and a complete black PCB with white labeling on it, what the bad point about the PCB of this motherboard is that it only has 4 layer PCB which is a bad thing I didn’t like about this motherboard.

Power Delivery Of This Motherboard:

On all advanced motherboards there is PCIe 4.0 support, so if you want to handle PCIe 4.0 perfectly then you are motherboard PCB should be capable to deliver enough power to the components on the motherboard which need more PCB layers but this motherboard has only 4. And if you want to use the PCI 4.0 on this motherboard then you will need to pay it with AMD Ryzen 3000 series processor, and that can be the Ryzen 5800X.

Heat Dissipation (VRMs):

This motherboard comes with 1050 AMPS power stages and these power stages are configured in 4 phases which is not enough to deliver enough power who oversaw components and motherboard to the processor, and another issue with this motherboard doesn’t have quality VRMs which will lead this motherboard to heat issues, and the 4 layer PCB it is not enough to handle all the powers and keep this motherboard cool under heavy duty usage or at gaming. Overall this motherboard is good at active cooling, it comes with a chipset fan and large thermal padded heat shield.

Performance:

MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI Motherboard is not a good motherboard for lockers because it is not capable to overclock a high-end CPU like with 8 cores or more, and if you did then you will face heat up issues. This motherboard comes with dual-channel DDR4 Ram support e channel can support up to a maximum of 64GB RAM, so total it can support 128 GB RAM. And if you buy it for AMD Ryzen second-generation processor then it can overclock the names up to 3600MHz but if you got AMD Ryzen 3rd generation processors and higher then the rams can go up to 4400MHz which is a great RAM speed for gaming.

Storage:

For storage, this motherboard can support up to two M.2 SSDs, and again if they are paired with the second generation of AMD Ryzen processor then it will use PCIe Gen 3 with a transfer speed upto 32Gb/s, but if they are paired with the third generation of AMD Ryzen processor or higher then they will use PCI gen 4 which is way faster than gen 3 almost double the speed of PCIe 3 which is 64Gb/s.

PCIe And Features Of The Motherboard:

The motherboard has 5 PCIe slots 3 are single slots having the same speed, but two are x16 slots and the closest to the CPU has 16 lanes there and another one has 4 lanes. So this motherboard can have one GPU at a time at maximum performance of X 16 lanes, but it supports AMD crossfire which is a good point though.

If you are using the PCIe 4.0 on the x16 slot then you will get 32Gb/s of bandwidth on the 16 Lanes slots but if you are running the GPU on PCIe gen 3 then you will get half the bandwidth of gen 4 which will be 16Gb/s, and if we talk about the 4 Lanes slot then it will give 8Gb/s on Gen 4 and 4Gb/s on PCIe Gen 3, so the performance of this motherboard will be good at PCIe 4.0 but still it doesn’t improve the gaming performance too much.

MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI Motherboard comes with 6 SATA third-generation slots which can give a maximum speed of 6Gb/s which is kind of slower than its competitor motherboards, you will get a flash BIOS button on the back input-output unit, a PS2 connector, a couple of second-generation USB ports, and two Wi-Fi 802.11 AC adapters which is an older and slower standard for today’s generation motherboards. You will also get some hybrid USB ports, a Type C connector, an HDMI port, and a 2000 series gigabit LAN. And for mic and audio devices you will get a Realtek codec of ALC 1220 which is great though.
