There are four major factors to consider when shopping for a gaming keyboard. The first is whether you want a mechanical or membrane keyboard. Mechanical keyboards offer more tactile feedback and have an increased life span, but they are also louder than membrane keyboards. Corsair K95 RGB Platinum – Gaming Keyboard Review:
The Corsair K95 has dedicated media keys at the top right of the keyboard. It has a nice wheel to control volume. cable is very long and ends with two USB plugs. build quality is great. The board has a top aluminum plate with a very solid plastic base. The Corsair K95 PLATINUM is an excellent gaming keyboard. It feels responsive thanks to the very short pre-travel, and the keys are light to press on in order to register. The build quality is great; it offers dedicated macro keys and is also fully RGB-lit, which is great for playing in the dark.
Design:
The Corsair K95 RGB Platinum is the thinnest gaming keyboard I have ever seen. It has a thickness of 2.9mm! At first, I wondered how the keys can be activated, but the answer is the excellent mechanical switches that have a proper pre-travel distance and an entirely rubberized feel, ensuring a good tactile response. This keyboard also has very good anti-ghosting and multiple profiles in Corsair utility. The lighted version of this keyboard has only one button in the front and no dedicated media keys, which is disappointing. It’s impossible to find faults with this keyboard: in every aspect, the Corsair K95 PLATINUM is a perfect choice. In fact, it’s almost impossible to find anything bad to say about this keyboard, which I think is a testament to the work of Corsair engineers.
Key performance:
This is the first mechanical keyboard that I’ve ever purchased, and I can say that I’m so glad I did. This keyboard feels like I am typing on a piece of metal. The actuation is fast and the keys have nice, tactile feedback. Unlike some keyboards, the K95 doesn’t give me “crispy” type tactile feedback; but instead has a medium amount of feedback. The keys have that nice quiet clack when they register and I didn’t have any problems learning the keyboard. It feels good to type on for hours on end without any fatigue.

Corsair has made a good decision to not make this a USB hub, as it reduces the overall width of the board. Unique:
The keyboard is a bit different in design than the others from Corsair; you might prefer it over the other K95 variants, but we did not particularly like it. The outer surface is grippy, which is great for gaming, but you’ll want to use the wrist rest for typing on the bottom surface, as the raised and rubberized material does not provide much friction. The K95 is also very responsive, and we were very pleased with the speed and accuracy. It is a well-crafted keyboard that feels great in the hand, with the glossy white and black design pleasing the eye, while the matte black cover has a textured finish. Another major plus is the K95 RGB Platinum’s dedicated media keys. They are recessed a bit, which is great because they do not cover up much of the right control cluster.
