Price 15K & 18K INR:
But, yes it’s a good start by realme & I can say that from now! There’s a base variant in this & I didn’t like 1 thing about it, I’ll tell you before unboxing it. That it’s coming soon, it’s going to be under Rs 15K(3GB+32GB WiFi variant).
This here, is the 4GB+64GB(upper variant), comes with WiFi+LTE & is priced at Rs 18K. So we’re going to unbox it today & let’s open it without wasting any more time, If you’re enjoying our unboxing & first impressions,
In-Hand and Unboxing:
This Realme Pad fits in one hand like it’s so smooth and comfortable I’ll tell you all about it. Alright, there’s documentation, a sim card tool, there’s an 18W charger & USB Type C cable. So that’s all there is in the box, there’s no case or anything else here. Let’s keep it aside & look at the tablet, you have to open it like this.
it’s metal design, It’s grey in color with an understated design, there’s a single rear camera, it’s not bad, take a look! It’s lightweight as well. It should be close to 380-400g, I’d say. In-Hand Feel – And you can hold it 1 hand which I can’t say about other tablets. I can say that about the realme Pad though! And that’s a good thing. If you have small hands then it’ll be a problem, but with normal/average hands it’ll be ok.
It’s 432g Hmm. But it does seem lightweight. It isn’t heavy as the weight distribution is good, which is very important having a big form factor. And that’s nice, you won’t feel it to be heavy.
Sim Cards And Ports:
Ports & Buttons – Below, there are 2 speaker grills on either side, there’s a Type C port in the middle. There’s nothing on the left side. Above, there’s a power on/off button & 2 speaker grills. On the right, above there’s a volume rocker up/down, 2 microphones below it & a sim card tray. It’s interesting, there are 2 microphones & none at the back nor above. And friends, you can make a phone call with this tablet! Yes! Let’s check & find out the sim card tray now. it’s a hybrid sim card slot, meaning you can use 2 sim cards or 1 SD card(up to 1TB) & a sim card, that’s not bad at all.
And if I talk about its thickness, it’s just 6.9mm thin! It’s decent & very good Build Quality – It’s metal at the back so that’s good & even the frame is metal as I can see the antenna lines. There’s a 3.5mm jack! It’s in the corner below, it seems different there.
Display 10.4 IPS:
Time to talk about the Display – The bezels are of decent size, & they’re necessary for a tablet. This is a 10.4” IPS LCD display. It’s an FHD++ display as it has a resolution above FHD+ but lower than 2K. So that’s what it is & it’s an IPS LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate. There’s no fast refresh rate here. The screen-to-body ratio is 82.5%
Ram, Memory And Processor:
This Realme Pad comes with Helio G80 SoC which is a 12Nm processor, & there are 3 different variants.3GB+32GB(WiFi version), 3GB+32GB(WiFi+LTE version) & this here is the 4GB+64GB(WiFi+LTE version). The storage type is eMMC 5.1, which is slightly on the slower side. And there’s LPDDR4X RAM.
This realme pad has a 7100mAh battery with an 18W charging, so it’ll take about 4-4.5 hours to charge. So keep it on charge overnight as it takes 4 hours to charge. The 10.4” display will easily last you through the day with the 7100mAh battery under moderate usage. Under heavy usage, it’ll easily last till evening & shouldn’t be a problem. And it’s an IPS LCD display as mentioned earlier.
Performance In Games:
The AnTuTu scores show between 1.85-1.90LUnder gaming performance, you can play COD/BGMI with Medium settings without problems. You’ll feel a little stuttering under High settings. So that’s what it is.
OS and UI:
OS UI – There’s 1 interesting thing about the OS that I’d like to tell you about. There’s no bloatware, nor any apps by realme. In fact, many apps are from Google, which is interesting. There are apps like YouTube Kids, YouTube Spaces which are basically for educational purposes. And they’ve launched the tablets with the same focus.
So there are some apps where you can track your kid’s online activities. And many apps like Google One, Google Play, GPay, etc, are all pre-installed are from Google. realme says that this is realme UI for the pad but I’d say it’s like having stock Android with a real launcher on it. And there’s nothing else. It’s based on Android 11 & has an August security patch. And yes there are some good features like reading mode, which is nice. There’s also multi-window support for you to use multiple apps on the big screen.
There aren’t all sensors here. There’s no fingerprint sensor, but there is a face unlock. There’s no proximity sensor as well, yes there’s a gyroscope & other sensors available. But no proximity sensor, no fingerprint sensor but face unlock is there, which works well.
The Helio G80 is 4G if you buy the LTE version, there’s hybrid sim card support, dual 4G VoLTE support, WiFi calling support as well. Like I said, if you want to talk on the call while picking it up, then you can do it without any problems. There’s dual-band WiFi support, WiFi calling as I mentioned & there’s Bluetooth 5.0 support.
There’s Widevine L1 support & Camera2api support which I don’t think will be useful enough for photos. Camera – It’s ok for video conferencing because there are 8MP cameras both on the front and back(single). There’s 1 good thing, the selfie camera is in the side bezel, so if you keep it in landscape mode, it’ll help you while video conferencing. The speaker position gets covered when you hold it in your hand, so the sound will be a little low.
The screen of this realme pad is good with an 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. For a tablet that’s good. It’s an IPS LCD display & the colors are good with the high-quality IPS display. You won’t see the blacks as the blacks on AMOLED & the viewing angles are ok. The audio is quite loud & it’s good. But if you hold it horizontally, then only the upper speaker grills will be audible. Overall, the multimedia experience is good.
There are 2 different colors – Grey & Gold. If you want that gold look then you can go for it too. I mentioned at the beginning of the video, finally, we’ve got a tablet which is good! Is decent, & at good pricing! Definitely,
I’d say it’s value for money but the marketing tactics – 3GB+32GB(Coming Soon) for Rs 13,999(below Rs 15K)That shouldn’t have been done, honestly, if you’re launching then please keep stocks! It’s possible that “coming soon” might be “never”, you’ll only have Rs 16K(3GB+32GB WiFi+LTE) & Rs 18K(4GB+64GB WiFi+LTE) available. And the base variant will not be available. They might’ve done it just to show the pricing.
